Miami Valley Community Action Partnership, in coordination with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, is now processing Prevention, Retention and Contingency (PRC) applications.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this program, your household must meet the following criteria:

  1. Residency: You must reside in Montgomery County.
  2. Income: Your gross household income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
  3. Parental Status: You must be a custodial parent, non-custodial parent, or legal guardian of a minor (defined as an individual age 18 or younger and enrolled in high school or lower) who lives in your household.

*Note for non-custodial parents: You must be current with child support payments and in compliance with all Child Support Enforcement Agency guidelines.

Application Instructions

To ensure your application is processed successfully, please follow these steps:

  1. Review Requirements: Click on your desired service to view the list of required documents.
  2. Gather documents: Collect ALL listed documents before clicking APPLY below.
  3. Upload your files: From your mobile phone or tablet, take photos of your documents as you fill out the form (recommended) or select them from your photo library. From a desktop computer, use the standard drag-and-drop feature to upload files.
  4. Submit and Wait: After clicking SUBMIT, do NOT close your browser. Due to file sizes, it may take a few moments to upload. Your application is not received until you see the “Thank You” envelope icon.
  5. Check Your Email: You will receive an automated email immediately after submission. This contains links to any extra forms required and a link to upload missing documents. Please monitor your inbox for further specific requests from the PRC team.

Only complete applications which include all required documents will be considered.

Applicants may request multiple services, but services may not exceed $5,000 in a 12-month period.
Each service can only be paid once per household every 12 months.

Important Notes

  1. One at a Time: Only one application can be open at once. Submitting multiple applications will delay processing. If you need to add information to an existing application, email PRC@mvcap.com.
  2. Complete the Form: Please note that an email or a phone call does not constitute an application. You must complete the online form to be considered.
