Montgomery County

Miami Valley Community Action Partnership provides services for customers with urgent and short-term needs to help overcome barriers preventing self-sufficiency. Eligibility requirement: 125 percent of Federal Poverty Guideline (individual: $15,075; family of four: $30,750)

Housing

  • back rent
  • move-in costs when transitioning from homelessness
  • temporary shelter if emergency housing is unavailable
  • Utility assistance (including water)
  • Other urgent needs as determined on a case-by-case basis
  • Information and referral/short-term case management

Senior Commodities

  • Supplemental Food Program for seniors 60 and up monthly
  • Provides 40 pounds of food
  • Call Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for appointment

Emergency Homeless Shelter

  • Houses persons left homeless due to fire, eviction, or other unfortunate circumstances
  • Maximum stay for individual: 14 days
  • Maximum stay for families: 30 days

Homeless Crisis Response Program (HCRP)

  • Provides emergency rent payment to avoid eviction
  • Households must resume payments following assistance
  • Must meet income guidelines
  • Case management is possible

Rapid Re-Housing

  • Provides first month’s rent and/or security deposit for permanent housing
  • Families in emergency situations receive priority
  • Must be for one-year lease and home must pass inspection
  • Must meet income guidelines
  • Case management is possible

Salvation Army

  • Limited funds available
  • Funds used for gas, unexpected expenses for families, etc.
