Micro Enterprise Class Returns Online
Miami Valley Community Action Partnership (MVCAP) will help aspiring entrepreneurs with an accelerated course this summer.
The free, five-week virtual Micro-Enterprise Business Development and Training Program begins June 26 and will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Participants must live at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level.
Stacy White took the class in 2019 before launching her business Liquid Lumber and credits it with helping her get through the COVID pandemic. She started making wood trays that represent sport teams and other related items. Her first went to a close friend who lost a family member to the virus.
“My earnings, although I’m not a millionaire, have afforded me savings, and money to meet some needs that my regular 9 to 5 couldn’t do alone,” White said. “I’m grateful for MVCAP and my micro enterprise family.”
Students learn about essential business functions and the main components of a formal business plan. Course topics include managing business records, financing your business, managing cash flow, pricing your products/services, and more.
