HTC Partnership Will Serve Clients

Miami Valley Community Action Partnership (MVCAP) and HTC (formerly known as Hannah’s Treasure Chest) have partnered to serve children of emergency shelter residents with greater wraparound support.

The new partnership will serve families living in MVCAP’s Greene County Emergency Shelter and Preble County Domestic Violence Shelter.

“Families coming to MVCAP’s shelters, often during moments of crisis or transition, may arrive with little more than the clothes they are wearing,” said Katie O’Donoghue Ly, MVCAP’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “This partnership will help by meeting their most immediate and practical needs with dignity and care.”

Families entering the shelter work with case managers regarding needs for children 18 and under. HTC can provide clothing and apparel of all types, diapers and wipes, books and toys, and equipment such as car seats.

“At HTC, we believe that a community is only as strong as the support systems available to its families,” said HTC Executive Director Deanna Murphy. “By combining our strengths, we are working diligently to ensure that every family in our region has access to the basic resources they need to not just get by but to truly succeed.”

“This partnership strengthens our ability to provide wraparound support by ensuring children’s basic needs are met quickly and consistently, particularly for families in shelter or those rebuilding after crisis,” added O’Donoghue Ly, who serves on the HTC board. “Beyond meeting material needs, the collaboration supports child well-being, preserves family resources, and reinforces a sense of normalcy and hope, which are critical foundations for long-term stability and self-sufficiency.”

“Seeing the direct impact this partnership has on our neighbors’ lives is a constant reminder of what we can achieve when we work together toward a common goal: a thriving community for all,” Murphy added.
