Miami Valley Community Action Partnership is seeking public input on its 2026-2027 Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) application. To meet the unique needs of our area, the organization is committed to fostering transparency and inclusivity in its decision-making process.
Through the Ohio Department of Development Office of Community Assistance, this funding opportunity supports various projects and initiatives that help alleviate the causes and conditions of poverty in Darke, Greene, Montgomery and Preble counties.
CSBG funding of $3,535,021 will enable MVCAP to continue providing essential services that help individuals and families achieve better lives. The application will be submitted by Nov. 14, 2025. Grant funding supports projects that:
- Reduce poverty in communities
- Address the needs of those with low incomes, including people experiencing homelessness and the elderly
- Provide services and activities addressing employment, education, better use of available income, housing, nutrition, emergency services and health
CSBG funding supports states and community action agencies’ efforts toward increased self-sufficiency, improved living conditions, ownership of and pride in their communities and building strong families and support systems.
MVCAP’s proposed CSBG services include:
- Legal Clinic – helping individuals reinstate driver’s licenses, seal criminal records, and overcome legal barriers to employment.
- Emergency and Transitional Housing Services – providing short-term and medium-term shelter, case management, and housing stability support.
- Affordable Housing Support – administering local housing programs and managing Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties.
- Financial and Housing Counseling – offering one-on-one counseling for budgeting, credit repair, homeownership, and foreclosure prevention.
- Emergency Home Repair – addressing urgent health and safety repairs for low-income homeowners.
- Supportive Services – assisting families with urgent needs such as rental, utility, or transportation costs while connecting them to long-term resources.
