Cooper Named Interim Weatherization Director

Eddie Cooper has accepted the role of Interim Weatherization and Housing Services Director following the unexpected passing of Barry Strahorn in December.

Cooper has held progressively responsible roles over nearly two decades with MVCAP. He has been an energy auditor, senior quality control inspector, director of quality control and assistant housing services director. He holds certifications as a BPI Quality Control Inspector, BPI Energy Auditor and BPI Building Analyst.

Cooper has also served as Coordinator for the Southwestern Hub of the Ohio Weatherization Training Center since its opening in 2022.

“Eddie’s leadership ensures continuity, technical excellence and strong program oversight as we move through this transition,” said MVCAP President and CEO Erin Jeffries.

Cooper will serve in the interim role until a permanent hire is made, Jeffries added.

Cooper’s leadership is also recognized across the state. He has been nominated to fill Strahorn’s position as chair of the Ohio Department of Development’s Home Weatherization Assistance Program Policy Advisory Council.
