Club’s Annual Drive Serves Families
For four decades, Darke County families have benefitted from the Toys for Tikes drive held by the Road Hoggs Motorcycle Club.
Items collected in the drive were brought to MVCAP’s Darke County office. Once sorted, the club members went shopping to make sure all age groups are well-covered.
MVCAP clients – from Darke County’s Emergency Shelter, Utility Assistance Programs and more – will be able to shop for their children free of charge.
“My heart is overflowing with gratitude to see our once empty room filled with toys,” said MVCAP Darke County Director Megan Campbell. “I am so grateful to this club for their generosity to our community.”
Every toy collected by the Road Hoggs stays in Darke County, said Club President Matt “Goose” Townsend.
“Every toy, every dollar, every bit of support goes directly back into helping local families during the holiday season,” he said. “This mission has become a true part of who we are.”
According to Campbell, the collection served 41 families and 109 children served by MVCAP.
The Road Hoggs collect toys and monetary donations in uptown Greenville the Sunday after Black Friday every year, regardless of weather, Goose said.
“You can count on the Road Hoggs,” he added. “It’s what we do and it’s what we believe in.”
