Annual Report Presented to Elected Officials
MVCAP President and CEO Erin Jeffries presented the agency’s 2025 Annual Report to the Montgomery County Commission and the Xenia City Council last month.
While discussing the work specifically done in Montgomery and Greene counties (of which Xenia is the county seat), Jeffries emphasized that the capacity of the four-county agency allows it to serve each county more effectively. The agency’s regional footprint includes specialized staff while the entire team emphasizes local relationships.
Director of Emergency Services Val Bolen joined Jeffries in Montgomery County. Bolen’s team of eight processes applications under MVCAP’s partnership with the Montgomery County Department of Job and Family Services for the Prevention, Retention, and Contingency (PRC) Program.
PRC provides short-term help with temporary situations ranging from non-cosmetic car repairs to school fees to rent assistance.
County Administrator Michael Colbert commended the agency for its work on the PRC program.
“PRC is very important to me,” Colbert said. “It keeps people from going deeper into social services and may even help them get off. I want you to know how impactful this program is.”
At Xenia City Council, Jeffries was joined by Greene County Director Brent Robinson to discuss
programs including emergency and transitional housing with case management to reduce barriers to stability.
“Housing insecurity is one of the most difficult crises a family can experience,” Jeffries said. “MVCAP’s Xenia locations provide local access backed by agencywide resources and expertise.”
In 2025, MVCAP provided 8,087 shelter nights that created pathways to stability, she added.
MVCAP’s housing work in Greene County expands this fall as the agency takes the lead in Region 15 for the Homeless Crisis Response Program. The regions are part of the Ohio Balance of State Continuum of Care, which is overseen by the Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio (COHHIO) and funded by the Ohio Department of Development.
Robinson will be taking a lead role in the Continuum of Care’s work in both Greene and Clark counties. Funds can be used to prevent evictions, rehouse people and provide case management and other supports.
The leadership role will allow MVCAP to create new positions in its Xenia office, Jeffries added.
“Your program has rescued quite a few people I have known,” said Council Vice President James Crawford. “Thank you for your services to our community. You are well needed.”
Jeffries will present the report at Eaton City Council in Preble County and Greenville City Council in Darke County later this fall.
