National Rebuilding Day Honors Strahorn

Miami Valley CAP carried on a strong tradition started by a dear friend last month. The 31st National Rebuilding Day visited Trotwood and Jefferson Township on Saturday, April 25.

As a long-time partner of Rebuilding Together Dayton, Miami Valley CAP was honored to participate at a job site dedicated to our friend and colleague Barry Strahorn. Strahorn served as a House Captain for the event for several years.

Weatherization and Housing Services Director Eddie Cooper led a group from MVCAP at the project.

“It is always an honor and a privilege to volunteer and give back to the community,” Cooper said. “I also really appreciated how Rebuilding Together Dayton completed the work in a different neighborhood this year. It was a great experience.”

Volunteering with Cooper this year were teammates Vicki Rish, Tamara Blake and Bobby Johnson. Karen Strahorn also visited the job site dedicated to her late husband.

The home the MVCAP team worked on was one of 11 repaired during the event.
