What is Tornado Recovery Assistance?
Direct financial assistance for renters and homeowners impacted by the Memorial Day Tornadoes. You are eligible if your household income is at or below 80% of the Median Area Income (See chart below)
If you have been impacted by the tornado, we’d like to encourage you to fill out this short form. This will allow us to understand what your needs are.
Assistance may include:
- First month’s rent
- Security deposit
- Rent assistance
- Mortgage payments
- Insurance deductibles – homeowners, renters, and vehicle
- Moving costs
- Household furnishings and kitchen essentials
- Vehicle repair
- Other urgent needs as determined on a case-by-case basis

What do I need to bring to my appointment?*
- Photo ID
- Documentation that your home is uninhabitable
- Insurance documentation if applicable
- Proof of household income. Could include :
- Recent Paystub
- 2018 tax return
- 2018 W-2
- Letter from Employer
- Social Security or SSI Award Letter
- Bank Statement
*If no documentation is available, we will work with you
