Youth ages 7 to 15 looking to learn a new skill, meet new people and have fun this summer may enroll in daytime summer camps sponsored by the Community Action Partnership Youth Empowerment Center (YEC). The camps will be held at the YEC, 716 E. Main St. in Trotwood.
Camps will be held weekly beginning Monday, June 9, and continuing through Friday, Aug. 8. Youth from families at or below 125 percent of the Federal Poverty Level may attend the free camps. This is an income at or below $29,813 for a family of four.
Each weekly camp will have a different focus. Students may sign up for a maximum of three camps. The camp schedule is as follows:
- June 9–13: Art.
- June 16–20: Music.
- June 23–27: Theatre.
- June 30-July 3: Sports (Camp will not be held on July 4).
- July 7–11: Science.
- July 14–18: Cooking.
- July 21–25: Gardening.
- July 28–Aug. 1: Fun Week.
- 4–8: Backyard BBQ/Field Day for all camp participants.
Camps will be held from 8 a.m. to noon for youth ages 7 to 11. Ages 12 to 15 will attend camp from 1 to 4 p.m.
