The Board of Trustees of the Community Action Partnership of the Greater Dayton Area invites the community to attend the 2011 Annual Meeting and Luncheon, “Community Action Don MathisPartnership: A Proud History, A Positive Presence.” The event is Tuesday, May 3, in Building 12 at Sinclair Community College. It begins at 11 a.m., with lunch served at 11:30 a.m.
Donald W. Mathis, national President/CEO of the Community Action Partnership (CAP) in Washington, D.C., is the guest speaker. CAP represents the interests of 1,000 Community Action Agencies (CAAs) across America that fight poverty on the local level.
Mathis provides leadership and guidance to CAAs and oversees the development and implementation of several anti-poverty initiatives, including Rooting Out Poverty: A Campaign by America’s Community Action Network. He is also responsible for raising the visibility of Community Action through strategic branding, marketing, and public relations approaches, establishing new collaborations, and advocating for the 44 million Americans living in poverty.
Entertainment will be provided by Stivers School for the Arts. Along with a preview of the agency’s Annual Report, the Annual Meeting is an opportunity to reflect on the successes of the past year and look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.
