The Board of Trustees of the Community Action Partnership of the Greater Dayton Area invites the community to attend the 2010 Annual Meeting and Luncheon, “Serving Our Families, Our Communities, Our Region.” The event is Tuesday, April 13, in Building 12 at Sinclair Community College. It begins at 11 a.m., with lunch served at 11:30 a.m.
Glenn Faircloth, Ph.D., principal of the David H. Ponitz Career Technology Center (CTC), is the guest speaker. A partnership of Sinclair Community College and Dayton Public Schools, the Ponitz CTC opened last August with over 500 students.
“If anyone can reach the hearts and minds of students and their parents, it’s Dr. Faircloth,” said Tim Donnellan, President & CEO of the Community Action Partnership of the Greater Dayton Area. “At age 37, he understands the unique challenges of students, because he overcame those challenges. A man who once called the streets his home, Dr. Faircloth rose from homelessness to a professional career, earning his doctorate from Miami University. Join us as he shares the impact families, communities and the region have had on his growth and success.”
Local youth will provide entertainment. Along with a preview of the agency’s Annual Report, the Annual Meeting is an opportunity to reflect on the successes of the past year and look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Cost of the event is $35 per person, or $280 for a table for eight. Please RSVP by Tuesday, April 6. To register online, visit www.cap-dayton.org and click on the “Make a Donation” button.
