WHAT: Weatherization Day in the Miami Valley. The event seeks to increase awareness of the benefits of home weatherization.
WHEN: Friday, Oct. 16, from 9 to 11 a.m.
WHERE: The Community Action Partnership parking lot at the corner of S. Patterson Blvd. and S. Main St. in Dayton, near the agency’s office at 719 S. Main St. Look for the tent!
WHY: Community Action Partnership of the Greater Dayton Area has weatherized more than 12,000 homes in the Miami Valley since 1976. Properly weatherizing a home helps save homeowners up to 28 percent on their energy bills.
The Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) is a free energy efficiency program designed to help income-eligible families decrease costs and make their homes safer and more energy efficient.
A large tent will be set up and the public is invited to see demonstrations of the home weatherization process and equipment. Staff and customers will provide information on the program. Visitors will also be able to apply for the program at the event. Door prizes and light refreshments will also be available.
