WHO: Community Action Partnership’s community partners, agency customers, staff, supporters and friends.
WHAT: A “tent event” to increase awareness of programs and services in the community, provide a free lunch, and present the “Helping People. Changing Lives.” Awards to outstanding community partners.
WHEN: Wednesday, May 25. There will be welcoming remarks at 11 a.m., followed by information and displays from Community Action Partnership and other agencies. Prize drawings will occur throughout the event. The awards presentation will be at approximately 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: The Community Action Partnership parking lot at Lincoln Street and S. Patterson Blvd. in Dayton.
WHY: As part of National Community Action Month, Community Action Partnership will share the community’s successes and struggles in helping low-income people achieve a better quality of life. The event will also give local residents a firsthand look at the challenges low-income individuals and families face and how Community Action Partnership programs can assist them.
The “Helping People. Changing Lives.” awards will be presented to community-based direct services staff and community volunteers who consistently demonstrate their commitment to helping others achieve greater self-sufficiency.
